Founded by Czech King and Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV, this castle is situated in the middle of a lush forest surrounded by picturesque landscape.

Karlstejn served as a place for safekeeping of the Czech crown jewels, holy relics and other royal treasures. Below the castle the village of Karlštejn is situated, offering charming restaurants and souvenir shops. Moreover, the village offers one of the most beautiful views of the castle. Your private guide will pick you up in your hotel. The journey to Karlštejn takes approximately 40 minutes. During the journey through the picturesque landscape, your guide will give you information about Karlštejn castle and explain the history of Czech Republic. After the tour you will have free time to visit the souvenir shops or taste the local specialties. The tour ends back at your hotel or at the center of Prague, if you prefer so.

Option for those who like adventure - Do a bike tour from Prague to Karlstejn castle along the river with beautiful countryside and beer stops !  Best of all, its completely flat and easy bike path. Back we go  by train to Prague center.
